I find it hard to ignore the massive effect that certain films have on an entire generation. And, the Star Wars Serieshas not just affected one generation. The nature of this franchise has permeated into nearly all generations since the first movie was released in 1977. The Star Wars Universe is so vast that the number of characters and settings is almost overwhelming. But, if your child is a fan of these stories and characters, then some printable coloring pages featuring Star Wars are sure to entertain them.

The Original Trilogy

Coloring pages that feature the original trilogy of movies will showcase the characters and story that introduced this galaxy far, far away. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo are the headliners for this original trilogy. As Luke learns to be a Jedi master, he puts himself in the middle of a galactic struggle. Coloring pages that feature Luke, Han, and Leia in their daring escapades will bring back all the memories of the original trilogy for the parents and provide loads of fun for the kiddos.

The original trilogy also introduced one of the most iconic villains in cinema history, Darth Vader. Darth Vader seeks to protect the Death Star from the rebels. Unbeknownst to many in 1977, the whole Star Wars Saga kind of revolves around him and the Skywalker lineage. Coloring pages featuring this imposing villain are a must for any Star Wars fan.

The original trilogy introduced many loveable and memorable secondary characters. The droids C-3PO and R2-D2 are staples to the adventures of our heroes. Jedi Masters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda are also introduced. Villains like Jabba the Hut and Boba Fett are also featured in these films. And, do not forget the incredibly loyal Chewbacca, Han Solo’s best friend, and first mate. Your kids will love coloring pictures featuring these well-known characters.

The Prequel Trilogy

The Prequel trilogy fleshes out the tragic backstory of Anakin Skywalker, as he is rescued from slavery, trained as a Jedi, and ultimately turns to darkness and becomes Darth Vader. Anakin is aided in his adventures by Padme Amidala, who later becomes his wife. Obi-Wan, his master and mentor, Mace Windu, and others. These films are peppered with evildoers like Darth Maul, General Grievous, Count Dooku, and Jango Fett as the Clone Wars are waged. Do not forget the terrible rise of Emperor Palpatine chronicled in these movies and the rise of the Galactic Empire. The prequel trilogy provides a lot of context to the story and lots of fun scenes that can be used in Star Wars coloring sheets.

The Sequel Trilogy

This trilogy of movies focuses on the aftermath of the war with the Empire. Ray, a force-sensitive girl, strives to find out who she is as she aids the rebel cause. Fin, a former stormtrooper, seeks to stand up against his former leaders. And Poe Dameron, an ace fighter pilot, fights for the liberties of the galaxy. These three interact with Luke, Han, and Leia as the torch is officially passed to a new generation of heroes.

But, as new heroes arise, so do new villains. Kylo Ren, the leader of the New Order, is a Sith in training, bent on smashing the Resistance. Kylo is Ben Solo, son of Han and Leia, and was initially taught by Luke. In this epic struggle, light fights darkness again over the fate of the galaxy. Coloring sheets featuring these characters may be the most familiar to your kids as they are the latest movies to be released.
