As a child of the 80s, I have a deep love for the TeenageMutantNinja Turtles. I was a ninja turtle for multiple Halloweens growing up. And, like many of the coolest cartoons of the 80s, the TMNT franchise has lived on with numerous reboots and live-action films. If your kids are also fans of the cartoon or movies, they will love coloring some ninja turtle coloring pages.

Coloring the Ninja Turtles

Coloring the ninja turtles is a blast due to the exciting nature of the turtles and the richness of the colors that go along with the scenes. The turtles are a mixture of greens and yellows, but each of the four turtles has a designated color for their masks. Also, these coloring pages are set in the streets, rooftops, and sewers of New York City, for the most part, allowing your kids to be creative in the character’s surroundings as well. Your kids will be able to use almost every color of crayon or colored pencils available with these ninja turtles coloring sheets.

The Characters

The ninja turtles are colorful characters in and of themselves. But, there are many other memorable friends and foes in the world of the pizza-loving turtles. Here is a short rundown of some of the most important characters.

Leonardo: Leo is the leader and pseudo-oldest brother of the turtles. He is a fierce warrior who wears a blue mask and uses two katanas as the weapon of choice. Coloring pages featuring Leo in action are sure to provide a fun activity for your child.

Donatello: Donnie is the intelligent guy amongst the four turtles. He comes up with inventions and builds incredible vehicles for himself and his brothers. He wears a purple mask and uses the bo-staff as his weapon of choice. A ninja turtle coloring sheet featuring Donnie and his inventions is sure to be a hit.

Raphael: Raph is the rebellious and sort of hot-headed brother of the ninja turtles. Often, if there is conflict, Raph is at the center of it. Despite his temper, he is a good-hearted guy. Raph appropriately sports a red mask, and he uses two long daggers called sais as his weapons.

Michelangelo: Mikey is the turtle that provides comic relief, and he loves to party. Mikey generally treats everything as a joke, and he lightens the mood for everyone. A fan favorite, Mikey sports an orange mask, and he uses the num-chucks.

Splinter: Splinter is a large mutated rat who acts as a father figure to the turtles. He raised the young turtles and taught them ninjitsu. Kids will love coloring Splinter along with his crime-fighting sons.

April O’Neill: April is a reporter for one of the city’s news stations. April is a good friend to the turtles because she keeps their secrets and feeds them information about what is going on in the city. Kids will love coloring April with her iconic yellow jacket.

Casey Jones: Casey is an ally of the turtles who also loves the vigilante life. He sports a hockey mask and loves to beat criminals with sporting equipment like hockey sticks and bats. Casey is another of the human allies that keeps the secret of the turtles.

Shredder: Shredder is one of the main antagonists of the series. He is an impressive warrior and controls the organized criminal organization of the Foot Clan. Shredder will be a favorite to print off and color with his samurai-like helmet and spiked claws.

Krang: Krang is a brain-shaped alien from another dimension that usually works in conjunction with Shredder to take over the world. Krang is a fun character to color because of the robotic bodies he inhabits to wreak havoc.
