As the holiday season gets closer, I have noticed a lot more red and green in the stores and around town. It is time for some holiday festivities. Your kids will love to color scenes and pictures that showcase the fun of the season. Christmas coloring pages provide an outlet for kids to enjoy themselves as the wintery season starts to make playing outside less of an option. Whether it is coloring pages of Santa Claus at the North Pole or the Nativity, there will be some coloring pages for you and your kids.

The Nativity

In my family, like in many other Christian families, we look to showcase the Nativity at Christmas time. Why not provide a printable coloring page showcasing Mary, Joseph, and the Christ child for your kids? These are excellent opportunities to provide some entertainment for your kids while at the same time reinforcing essential beliefs about the season. Whether they are scenes of the entire Nativity scene, the road to Bethlehem, or even depictions of the new star, scenes depicting these important stories are fantastic for families.

The North Pole

Of course, it is fun to color pictures of Santa’s Workshop and home at the North Pole. Coloring pages that depict elves, reindeer, toys, the sleigh, and Santa are all classic Christmas-style coloring pages. These pictures are sure to get your kids in the right spirit of the season as they enjoy themselves with coloring festivities. Rudolph, the famous reindeer with a red nose, is another favorite that kids love to color. It is also a popular coloring page to showcase Santa in flight with his sleigh and reindeer. The fun never ends when Santa and his cohorts are involved.

The Grinch

Now, to be honest, there have been occasions where I have been compared to the Grinch. I do not know if that was because of my bad attitude or because of my Grinch-like figure. But, Dr. Seuss’ legendary character has become a staple of the Christmas season. Kids of all ages will enjoy coloring pictures of the Grinch stealing Christmas from the Whos down in Whoville.

A Christmas Carol

Just as I have been compared to the Grinch on occasion, I have also been likened to Ebeneezer Scrooge. Older kids and younger probably have some experience of hearing Charles Dickens’s famous story A Christmas Carol. Coloring pages depicting old Scrooge on his haunted night are sure to be recognizable and extremely fun to color. As children color pictures of Ebeneezer and his ghostly visitors, parents will also enjoy teaching about the excellent lessons taught in the story.

Christmas Decorations

Another fun activity for kids is providing some coloring pages depicting symbols and decorations of the Christmas Season. Christmas coloring pages displaying candy canes, a Christmas tree, a Christmas ornament, or a wreath are great pictures for your kids to enjoy coloring. Your children will be creative with their coloring of these ornaments, or perhaps they will be traditional with their color choices and designs.

Christmas Activities

I personally love the beauty of the winter season. Perhaps your kids will enjoy a Christmas coloring page depicting a winter scene. These pictures can be pictures of people building snowmen, or sledding down a hill, or enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate. Maybe pictures of a gingerbread house, gingerbread cookies, or other Christmas cookies will inspire some other activities your family can do together. One of the best ways to invite the Christmas spirit is to print out some Christmas coloring pages and enjoy coloring fun together. Then, after you have colored these fun scenes, maybe it will be time to go out and do some of the activities you just colored.
